The Wine & Wisdom Quiz evening was also held last night with organiser Bob Broom in charge. This event is open to all Stanfordians and is held every first Wednesday evening of the month, starting again in September. The proceeds of the evening will also go towards the Buzzy Beez restoration project.
Buzzy Beez is an 1860s ‘nagmaalhuisie’ which Stanford Conservation saved from being demolished. The school is now renovating the building, but does not have funds for the much-needed re-thatching of the entire roof. Stanford Conservation Trust is assisting the school in raising the shortfall of R30 000. Anyone interested in contributing towards this fund, please contact the SCT.
