Stanford Significant Tree Talk

A small group of tree enthusiasts met yesterday evening to listen to an interesting talk by Dr Chris Whitehouse from Philipskop Mountain Reserve, on the basics of identifying various types of trees. This was to get the Stanford Significant Tree Survey started. Katie Smuts who is part of Stanford Conservation Trust, discussed how the trees were going to be recorded, through the use of an app called iNaturalist, which must be downloaded onto a phone or tablet. All proceeds from the evening will go towards the renovation of Buzzy Bees in the Okkie Smuts School grounds.
